flower beanie hat

IMG_5280
Winter had arrived- at least in Oregon and its time to pull out those beanie hats! Since I wear beanies just about every day, I am always looking for new ways to mix it up.

Picture 2
A quick trip to the .99 cent store (one of my favorite places) to purchase a variety of cheap hats and scarves that I can alter!
Another great alternative- recycle old or outdated sweaters.

I started by cutting scarves into strips and turned them into rolled roses (see my rolled rose tutorial here).  I never get tired of creating rolled roses out of all kinds of fabric!

The result is big chunky roses!
Using a needle and thread I sewed the roses to the surface of my .99 cent beanies.

pretty painted gift boxes

You've gotta know by now that I am IN LOVE with using 3-D paint in all kinds of projects.

This year, with the holidays approaching, I was inspired by my Pretty Painted Pumpkin project to come up with a similar way to get the same look and feel but on gift boxes that I could use in my holiday wrapping.

I started by painting a brown craft box with a solid color and used Scribbles 3-D Paint to doodle pretty designs all over the surface of the box.

I left some of the boxes plain and simply applied the 3-D paint to the top, letting the natural color show through.

The result are decorative and pretty little homemade boxes perfect for gift giving!

new stamps!

IMG_4987
I am so excited to announce that I have deep etched rubber stamps made from my doodles and drawings now available in my shop (and more coming soon)! For the last few years I've received lots of requests for rubber stamps and its taken me a while to figure out how I could make this happen. I am thrilled that I will now be able to offer a variety of my own drawings and designs as rubber stamps to use in your mixed media projects.

I am offering a 6 x 9 inch uncut and unmounted sheet of flower doodles

My flower doodles are taken from the pages of my sketchbook and are designed with a variety of art and craft projects in mind. Inspired by own process of creating surfaces full of pattern, the flowers and leaves can be layered and repeated to create pattern on paper, fabric, clay and more!

I am also offering a 2 x 6 inch  uncut and unmounted feather stamp.

Again, the design is taken from my sketchbook and can be used in all kinds of creative projects!
